The product: CakeWalk is a site that provide to its users quickly and efficiently the best bakery products . CakeWalk also provides gluten free products for its gluten intolerant users
The problem: The process of searching for products is too slow and too complicated.
The goal:To make a site that everybody can order quickly and efficiently big quantities of products
Project overview:
My role: UX designer leading CakeWalk website design
User research :pain points
The food ordering sites are overly complicated full with information .
Persona:
User Journey:
Sitemap:
Thanks to the usability study the sort by option is more visible ,also a notification button has been added.
High-fidelity prototype:
Key takeways:
Impact: The navigation process was much smoother than before. As a result it is much quicker to order now
Next steps:
Responsibilities: Conducting interviews ,paper and digital wireframing, low and high fidelity wireframing ,conducting usability studies, accounting for accessibility ,iterating
The food ordering site do not save your previous orders
One the main pain points that the users face is the navigation. Therefore I choose a hierarchical structure for the site, in order make the navigation smoother.
Digital wireframes:
In the digital form it is easier to come across the weaknesses of the design . For example in the digital form the sorting options was included
Low-fidelity prototype:
Usability study findings:
There is no way so the user can be notified for a new offer
Mock up
The flow of the high fi prototype is the same as the low fi one ,but more screens are included and much more design changes have been added
Another usability study could be really helpful
There isn’t an option for the user to delete from the basket just one product
Also a competitive audit could help rapidly to come up with new ideas
The food ordering sites do not provide you with enough navigation tool in order to make the search process easier
What I learned: I should not underestimate any aspect of the design because even thought it might seem meaningless it could make much quicker the process of navigation
The food ordering sites are not accessible enough to people with various food allergies.
There is no reason for the offers page to be a different one it could be part of the main menu
