The product: Punk Pulse is a music app that includes multiple released and unreleased songs of a famous punk band .At the same the app provides the users with the ability to purchase band merchandise and also to buy tickets.

My role: Ux designer designing the Punk Pulse from conception to reality.

Pain points:

The navigation system was initially deemed too complicated

User persona:

User journey maps:

Mapping Sid’s journey made it clear that the design should change accordingly to the needs of people with vision disabilities.

Paper wireframes:

Mock ups:

After contacting the usability studies and taking into consideration the findings of the study the mock up is made.

High-fidelity prototype:

Compared to the low fidelity he two main changes is the ability to scroll and the sort by button is usable

Key takeaways:

Learning from the best aspects of the app and trying to impliment them to the rest of the app.

Next steps:

The usability tests were extremely helpful so another one will be helpfull

The problem: to keep users entertained while at the same time maintain smooth navigations.

Responsibilities: Conducting interviews, paper and digital wireframes, low and high fidelity prototyping conducting usability studies, accounting for accessibility, and iterating on design

The color palette was too bright resulting on making it exhausting for people with vision problems

Make the flow more simplistic

The structure of the site was deemed odd , because it was structured in a way that confused users

Here is the initial wireframe and the flow of the app . It was done on paper and low fidelity wireframe was inspired by it

Digital Wireframes:

After ideation and paper wireframing comes the digital wireframing phase .In this phase some of the main characteristics of the app are added and it’s almost ready for a usability test.

Low-fidelity prototype:

In this phase the flow of the app can be shown and the app is ready for a usability test.

Usability study: findings

Move the profile button to a more noticeable place

The goal: Create an app that can entertain both new and old listeners of the band.

Change the color palette in order to be more accessible by people with vision disabilities

I learned that making an app is constant struggle and only thought acknowledging your mistakes you will be able to develop the app .
